AVIRON
Powering connection, one stroke at a time.
Designed with corporate workers in mind, Aviron is tailored for these environments. Introducing a “scan and reserve” function for users to avoid long wait-times at the gym.
Survey
Users who engage in moderate exercise (3-4 times per week) were asked what they thought about the rower’s interface design and its clarity.
The majority of respondents thought the display screen was very unclear and the found it to be the most pressing issue to resolve within the rowing machine’s design.
The final form I chose is able to give the existing rowing machine a new air, bringing in dynamic elements into an organic and cohesive form. It portrays an elegant and minimal design, perfect for corporate environments.
By centering the flywheel, this design was able to lessen the average width of the rower.
UI / UX
Tailored towards corporate workers, who need to keep reminders and messages in mind, while continuing to highlight their workouts.
User Progress
Aviron keeps track of its user’s progress, from where they started their fitness journey to where they are now, keeping up to date with their recent statistics.
Push Notifications
If Aviron is not available, the user is able to push notifications so they can be notified when space in the rower is available.
NFC Tag Scan Reservations
In case the machine is not available, Aviron allows its user to scan and reserve the machine.
Click-and-Lock Handle
Aviron’s handle and docking station are magnetic surfaces, this way, the handle does not fly off when its user is attempting to finish a workout, or rush their way out of the gym.
